Your AI Manager

An AI co-manager that analyzes your business, surfaces recommendations, and helps you make decisions.

OpenPOS includes a built-in AI Manager — think of it as a co-manager that monitors your store's performance, runs analyses on a schedule, and surfaces actionable recommendations so you can focus on running your restaurant.

What the AI Manager does

  • Automated task runs — The AI Manager runs scheduled analyses on your store data: daily sales snapshots, menu performance reviews, customer behavior patterns, and more. Each run produces a summary and actionable recommendations.
  • Nudge cards — Proactive guidance cards appear in the bottom-right corner of your dashboard when the AI detects something you should act on — like enabling delivery, setting up a loyalty program, or celebrating a milestone. Dismiss them when you're done, and they won't come back.
  • AI Insights on Home — The home page sidebar shows the latest AI analysis summary and top recommendations, so you see what matters as soon as you log in.
  • Suggested Actions — Context-aware action suggestions on the home page that adapt based on your store's current state — what features you've enabled, how much order history you have, and what growth opportunities exist.
  • Chat assistant — Ask your AI Manager questions in natural language. "What were my best sellers last week?", "Should I run a promotion?", "How's my lunch traffic compared to dinner?" It has full access to your store data and can answer with real numbers.

How it learns about your store

The AI Manager reads your store signals — a set of indicators about your store's lifecycle state:

  • Setup stage — Do you have a menu, payment processing, store hours, and address configured?
  • Launch stage — Have you received your first orders? Is your website published?
  • Growth stage — Do you have enough order history for meaningful analytics? Are customers returning?
  • Feature adoption — Which features have you enabled (delivery, catering, reservations, loyalty, etc.)?

Based on these signals, the AI Manager tailors its recommendations. A new store gets setup guidance. An established store gets growth optimization suggestions.

Getting started

  1. Go to AI Manager in the sidebar.
  2. Tell your AI Manager about your restaurant — cuisine type, specialties, and brand voice. This helps it represent you accurately in recommendations and customer interactions.
  3. The AI Manager starts working immediately — analyzing your data and surfacing insights on your home page and through nudge cards.

Task runs and reports

View all AI task runs on the AI Manager page. Each run shows:

  • Summary — A concise overview of what the AI found.
  • Recommendations — Specific actions you can take based on the analysis.
  • Timestamp — When the analysis was run.
  • Category — What type of analysis (sales, menu, customers, operations).

Runs happen automatically on a schedule, or you can trigger them manually for an immediate analysis.
