Reservations & Waitlist Management

Accept online reservations, manage walk-in waitlists, and keep your floor running smoothly.

Skip the third-party reservation services that take a cut of your covers. OpenPOS includes built-in reservations and waitlist management — accessible from your storefront, the Host Stand, and the Staff App.

Online reservations

Enable reservations in Settings > Reservations. Once enabled, customers can book directly from your storefront:

  • Set available time slots and party size limits.
  • Configure booking windows — how far in advance and how last-minute customers can book.
  • Reservations appear on the Host Stand view for your host or manager.
  • Customers receive confirmation and reminder notifications via SMS or email.
  • Staff can confirm, seat, or cancel reservations from the dashboard or Staff App.

Walk-in waitlist

Enable the waitlist in Settings > Waitlist. Walk-in customers join the queue from your storefront (via a tablet at the door or a QR code) or your host adds them manually:

  • The queue shows estimated wait times based on party size and current capacity.
  • When a table is ready, the customer is notified via SMS — no more shouting names.
  • Staff manage the queue from the Host Stand or the Staff App.

Host Stand

The Host Stand (Operations > Host Stand) is your combined view for managing both reservations and walk-ins. It shows today's reservation book, the current waitlist queue, and table assignments — all in one screen designed for a tablet at your host stand.
